Chicago North Shore Lincoln Park Newborn Photography Baby | Lia Christine

Being a first-time parent comes with many ups and downs. When I was pregnant with my first, I remember trying to find and read all the best pregnancy books. I didn’t even check out many of the parenting ones yet because I was just trying to figure out how to keep that baby growing strong inside of me and how to deliver him or her. I was so excited to my newborn’s tiny features. Is it a boy or girl? Will they have a head full of hair? Whose nose will they have? Will I know how to calm my baby down? I had so many questions.

But then, as soon as that precious baby arrived, all of those questions and fears immediately disappeared, and complete awe, adoration, and love replaced them. I was astounded by how natural it felt. No, I may not have had all the answers, but I didknow how to love this little baby with all my heart. Everything else would fall into place.

And I think the same was true for this special couple. When Kristin and Michael first contacted me about doing a newborn session (before she had arrived), I could tell from their questionnaire that they could not wait for her arrival—and neither could I. Before we knew it, baby Lia Christine made her big debut into the world. This tiny beauty was such a joy to photograph. Mom and Dad wanted a mostly-neutral color scheme to match the décor in their house but mainly to highlight all of Lia’s perfect newborn pictures. Little Lia slept soundly through it all. I’m sure it was unintentional, but I even caught a slight playful smirk she gave as she was dozing. The lace bonnet showed off her sweet face beautifully.

I felt so honored to have the pleasure of capturing this precious newborn. She couldn’t possibly be any sweeter. Welcome to the world, Lia Christine!
