“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
— Aaron Siskind
After my first child was born, I didn’t want to miss a thing – the cute little belly rolls, the smiles, laughs, and birthday moments. All of it was something that I wanted to cherish forever, especially since time was flying by. That’s when my passion for photography began. I was officially on my way to being one of the Top Chicago Evanston Studio and Lifestyle Newborn Photographer artists. I decided to invest in a camera and take as many pictures of my family as I could. First, I started to get better, and thought that maybe I could provide a service that would allow other mamas out there to keep their precious memories forever.
Before long, I became a family photographer and learned so much along the way! I learned how lighting is crucial to making a great photo, and that there are different styles of photography that appeal differently to others. Two main styles of photography that I offer to my clients are In-Studio and Lifestyle. So what are those exactly? Here are the major differences in each:
Just as it sounds, this style of photography takes place in my studio. Being indoor has its perks, such as air conditioning and accessible restrooms. It also provides a comfortable and predictable environment for newborns and little ones. While we still do candid photography in-studio, a lot of posing also takes place due to limited space. Being in the studio gives us the opportunity to put creativity to use by using backgrounds, themes, and a variety of props.
This type of photography is where my clients and I head to their house, or the beautiful outdoors and capture memories surrounded by the everyday elements from their life together. I tend to book lifestyle sessions when taking family photos, newborns, or maternity sessions. Being in the comfort of their own home, especially for newborns, allows for kiddos and parents both to run around and play, capturing those candid giggles. Relying heavily on the natural lighting, this style of photography feels very comfortable and personal.
As one of the Top Chicago Evanston Studio and Lifestyle Newborn Photographer, I am thrilled to capture all styles of newborn photography!
